Trisha McAuley, independent Chair, announces the publication of the stakeholder group reports on the National Grid Gas and Electricity Transmission RIIO-2 business plans.

Today, the stakeholder group has published its reports on the National Grid Gas and Electricity Transmission RIIO-2 business plans. Over the past eighteen months, we have worked to challenge National Grid, providing a detailed scrutiny of stakeholder engagement and the development of the business plans between July 2018 and December 2019.

Representing a broad spectrum of stakeholders, the stakeholder group has worked as a collective to embrace the different perspectives and agree the common positions set out in the reports. For me, the hard work and commitment of all the group members has been so impressive, and I would like to express my very sincere thanks to them.

The stakeholder groups will support the Ofgem RIIO-2 open hearings process in the spring of 2020. National Grid has also committed to an enduring role for the stakeholder group and we are now in the process of developing our remit and forward work programme, with the aim of holding National Grid Gas and Electricity Transmission to account for the delivery of the business plans during the RIIO-2 period.

Please check back here soon for my views as we begin the next stage of this process.
